I've always been in some kind of shape and lifted regularly (ish) but ate pretty much whatever I wanted to. All that crap food finally caught up to me this summer. So in August I finally had enough looking at my gut in the mirror so I decided to do something about it. So with the help of the MyFitnessPal android app, I created an 8 week diet and exercise program that fit my lifestyle that I knew I could do without quitting. 1200 Calories per day, 6 days a week with 1 cheat day. Strength training on a Bowflex Monday, Wednesday & Friday with cardio and core on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday. I'm 5 weeks in so far and the results are awesome!!

Damn 1200 might be a little low. I believe you can get a same results (10 pounds, 5 weeks) if you increase your calorie intake to 1600. Everybody is different. I lost 20 pounds in 8 weeks on a 1750 calorie intake. But again, everybody is different.
Congrats on the weight lose!0 -
1200 is considered the bare minimum for a sedentary woman. You appear to be neither.
Do you know your BMR and TDEE? That's usually a good place to start to figure out your calorie needs. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/0
