Most people around here will tell you that you don't need a kick start for your diet. They'll also tell you that most cleanses are a scam and some are just outright dangerous.

    I agree with most people.

I just finished a 10 day cleanse from Advocare. Very few carbs except in the form of fruits. Lots of veggies and lean protein. No dairy, caffeine, grains for 10 days.

HOWEVER the goal isn't to lose weight. You can't go back to how you're eating for the weight you lose from a cleanse to stay off.

I do plan on doing it again every now and then, but we will see. I swear it helped me get regular after being screwed up ever since getting pregnant with my son.

I have done a cranberry juice detox. You should really pick a day where you know you won't be doing much. I would do mine on the weekend when I am just lounging around.

You mix 8 oz of 100% cranberry juice with 64 oz of water. Then you just drink that throughout the day in place of meals. It's a little tough, pure cranberry juice is extremely sour.

The other thing I would do is eat pineapple for the day. That is a little tough as well because of the acid from pineapple. I would just have pineapple for all meals and drink lots of water. This one was easy for me because I love pineapple, especially when I pick a perfect one and it is nice and sweet.

From my own experience, I would only do it for a day. I don't really believe in long cleanses. I usually do them after Thanksgiving dinner!
