Hi,
I was just curious what snacks people on here tend to enjoy? I'm looking for low calorie, yet satisfying..i know...I want my cake and eat it to...but not cake actually. I love eating things like a small packet of oatmeal for a morning snack....or a couple pieces of jerky in the afternoon. But, I'm looking for more great ideas. I like quick and easy things to grab and go with not alot of prep time. Almonds are always good...fruit and veggies with some hummus and peanut butter...what else? Whats your go to afternoon snack that holds you over?
Thanks and looking forward to all the great ideas!

I like a couple of different fiber bars I buy from Costco. Calories are 120-140 per bar. They taste like chocolate so I eat one of those when I really want a chocolate fix without eating too many calories.
It's not the healthiest snack, but it satisfies some cravings without too many calories.0 -
Pumpkin Fluff!!! It is awesome, if you like pumpkin!! Let me know if you want the recipe as I have tweaked the original some.0

The way I gained all my weight initially was grazing all day with no exercise, so I feel ya on wanting to keep snacks in the mix. Think of each meal being about 200-300 calories, and your snacks as a 4th meal, and that should help balance out your calories for the day. I've learned some serious portion control by having measuring cups out, drinking water with all food, and following the portion on boxed food. Some of my favorite snacks include:
Baked pita chips and a light dip (light dip being hummus or light sour cream with Mrs Dash in it)
6 Trisquit Crackers with 1 tbsp cream cheese
Apple with 1 tbsp peanut butter
1/2 cup whole Sunflower seeds - 120 cals
Special K breakfast bars 90 cals
Fiber One Brownies (or as I call them poop-brownies) 90 cals
Light Lime Popsicles 80-120 cals
mixed nuts (unsalted)
Rice and Bean chips - about 20 chips - 120 cals
Turkey Jerky - 1 oz 80 cals
Cucumber slices in vinegar and Mrs Dash (I call them 'half-pickled') - 35 cals
Fruit with a teaspoon of honey
Yogurt and fruit
popcorn with Mrs Dash seasoning
1/4 cup chopped dates
Roasted Green Peas
Graham Cracker with peanut butter (or cookie butter if you can control yourself)
Light pear slices in pear juice - i like to throw in freezer and then shave pear and juice and eat with a spoon0 -
Wow...Dani, you are awesome!! You just took all the guess work away for me. and now I love you. thanks a super ton for your ideas. I'm actually excited to go grocery shopping now (which is not normal) haha0

Pumpkin Fluff, my version
1 29 ounce can pumpkin, (plain pumpkin, not the kind ready for pie crust)
1 box (4 serving) FF/SF vanilla pudding (I have used cheesecake and others also)
1 to 2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 ro 2 teaspoons pumkin pie spice
dash allspice, if you want to add it, or nutmeg (both are opt.)
Mix all of these ingredients together until well incorporated.
Now add approx 2/3 to 3/4 tub of lite cool whip, the 16 oz size. Fold in to pumpkin mixture. And incorporate well.
Refrigerate for 2+++ hours. 1/2 cup is 63 calories and I am addicted!!!!0 -
Wow, just in time for the holidays! Seems like it would be great in a crust of choice!0
