Hypothyroidism and type 1 diabetes?

Hi,

Been doing MFP on and off for a while now, but was wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me - being hypothyroid AND having type 1 diabetes?
My weight has slowly crept up recently and I'm finding it difficult to shift. I eat well with a good balance of fruits, veggies, whole foods and home cooked meals. I know it is because I have 2 auto-immune conditions that is slightly holding my weight loss back but I was hoping to get any feedback/encouragement from anyone in a similar situation to me!

Thanks

I don't personally have hypothyroidism, but my understanding is it's best to keep TSH levels in the "low normal" range (below 2.0), not just in the "normal" range. So if you think your weight gain might be thyroid related, you might want to talk to your endocrinologist about adjusting your medication.

    Hope that helps..
  • Hi I have had type1 diabetes for 33 yrs and hypothyroidism for 25 yrs. I have always been curvy but now I am looking to lose a lot of weight. For me, keeping low carb and whole foods really does work. I am beginning again with my weight loss journey as I have put if off long enough. I have had 3 kids as well and that messed up my thyroid after my 3rd but now I am back on track.

This was posted today, I believe a couple people mentioned also having type 1 diabetes.
