anyone else has issue with their feet? I have wicked plantar faciitis and maybe arthiritis because my feet are killing me after my workouts. I have been doing the treadmill and changing up to the bike every other day cause of the pain.
I bought brand new sneaks, I got Brooks Trance 10 and I love them, so I am sure my foot wear is sufficient. Maybe it is just the weight, I don't know.
Just seeing if anyone else has issues and what do you do for it. Thank You

My partner has the same problem and fairly severe (he is a chef, so on his feet for 12 - 13 hours a day) and I have this problem also, but not as bad.
You'd be amazed at how even expensive footwear isn't that great for your feet. You should be able to buy some inserts, I got ours from Scholl. They hurt your feet for a couple of days as they will make your foot sit where it should, often in a position it's not used to. Since we started using them however the pain has completely disappeared. Can't promise it will do the same for you but it should certainly help.0 -
I feel your pain (literally...lol) I have a walking cast that I sometimes use on my Elliptical and I'll be having surgery in the near future. I would suggest seeing a podiatrist to see if any treatment will lessen your pain during and after working out.0

Oh my yes! I am suffering as we speak... I went to Academy and bought inserts for my shoes made specifically for Planter Fasciitis. I also get a bag of Ice when I am done for the day and just rest my foot on it right where the pain is.. make sure you put a wash cloth or something between your skin and the ice pack and do 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off so you wont damage skin. The other alternative is a cortizone injection in your heel. Was painful but the relief was fairly quick and being able to hop right up out of bed the next morning without wanting to scream was wonderful... I need to go have it done again but I just cant bring myself to go thru the pain of the shot again lol... Some people have said it wasn't that painful to them so it just depends on the person as with most things. I feel your pain! Hope this helps!0

Yes, I had my feet molded for inserts and they help. I hear the store bought ones are ok too so you might want to try those, other alternatives are going to the Dr and even the boot. Last resort is surgery.0

I have almost eliminated my plantar fascitis now but it took some trying of different things. After trying tons of different inserts in my trusty Keen hiking shoes and not quite finding the right ones I went to the orthopedic shoe store where they have a machine that analyzes the pressure points when you stand on it and they tell you which insert will work best. That gave me some relief. I went on a comfort shoe buying-binge and tried different types of shoes. Birkenstocks work for me, I never tried them before but now I have 4 pairs. I wear these around the house, to work and for casual walks but they don;t work for exercise of course. Putting my good inserts in my big box store Nike athletic shoes wasn;t cutting it either. So I went to a store that specializes in fitting running shoes where they measure your arch, analyze your gait, etc. They then brought out shoes for me to try until I found the ones that felt best. When I added my good inserts to these it resulted in a pain free solution, finally. It wasn;t cheap ($!20 shoes and $60 inserts) but since the pain was limiting my activity I would say it was worth the $.0

I have had PF, for 10 years now. After a really bad bunch of injections my heels are completely useless to stand on. I have actually trained my body to shift the weight more forward so i can move walking on my toes. I have another foot condition that causes my feet (based on temperature) to turn purple/blue in cold, sunburn red in heat. Aching none stop. Again i developed the tolerance to pain. I dont travel around much on my feet but when i do it has to be on my toes. I would suggest getting it looked into before you get into my situation. I guess i must just really like pain, lol.0

I have found that taping the bottom of my feet with sports tape keeps the tendon from over extending and really helps with the pain. Also moving to non weight bearing exercises like bike or pool exercises is better than running/walking.0

Store-bought inserts actually made my feet worse. I had to go to a podiatrist to get the right kind of supports for my high arches. I still have to be very careful.0

Yuck! I have the same problem and it isn't fun. New shoes do help it just takes awhile, but also make sure you are always wearing supportive shoes at all times and never go bare foot even at home. Fine a good pair of slippers to walk in around the house. Also icing your foot when its sore and stretching your calf and foot every night before bed helps.0

I work for a Podiatrist and I see tons of patients coming in for Plantar. Sometimes patients do get an injection but no more than 3 in a six month period. We also suggest an insert like Powersteps in some cases which you can buy from amazon.com or some people also get a night splint that streches the muscles/ tendons to help with that. These are only suggestions. But call a local Podiatrist and I am sure they can help you. Good Luck!0
