I bought this book a couple of years ago and decided to dig it out of the place where I toss things that I dont know what to do with place...lol! I remembered a recipe in there that helps with bloating, I have a problem with it later in the day. Not because of my sodium intake is high. I tried it and it helps!

Sassy Water

2 liters water ( about 8 1/2 cups)
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger root
1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
12 mint leaves

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher, chill in the refrigerator, and let flavors blend overnight.

Drink a cup with every meal. It is actually good!
Good luck!

I actually have a bloating problem (nothing severe) no matter what I eat it seems. Would you say your bloat is totally gone now? If you saw worthwhile results then I will totally try it myself :)

Im the exact same way, no matter what I always bloat. I tried alot of things so I was going through the book and I admit I was a little unsure. Actually it didnt sound very good, but I thought what the heck. I drank it and it really helps. It suppose to soothe the GI tract. Good luck, I hope it helps you as it helps me.

I have "Flat Belly" and while the water is helpful, it's the whole program that actually gets rid of the bloat. They have some wonderful recipes - I am a huge fan of the Mexican Stuffed Peppers - so yummy.. and very calorie friendly. Overall, it's a good diet.. and works well as a part of MFP logging.

I'm pretty sure I've seen this book at the bookstore before, I think I'll have to go out and pick it up on my shopping trip next weekend :)

Ok so I tried sassy water earlier this week and I can definitely say it help put my bloat at bay. The only problem is that you have to drink this water all on the next day (you make it the night before) or it will start to turn bitter from the ingredients marinating too long. Therefore, you pretty much have to make this everyday. I don't think I'd have the patience, but I'm going to save it for days I'm getting ready to fit into something nice and don't want bloat in my way! :)

having stuff in my water doesn't seem appetizing...do you strain it when you pour? or just drink around it?
