How close do you find MFPs database to what you show on your HRM? I just got one tonight and I'm afraid of being seriously disappointed.

MFP tends to be pretty generous on its calories. Trust what your HRM says provided you set it up correctly.

MFP is usually way over for me! For example for 30 min of the elliptical it says I would burn 540 but I really only burn 350. But I am sure its different for everyone.

I definitely find MFP to be a little too generous with its calories. I find that my Polar F6 is accurate! Good luck

I agree with the Dr. ! LOL! MFP is very generous on some items. Mowing yard was a big disappointment on the HRM compared to MFP. Less then half. But then again, I took a bike ride yesterday, and there was only 1 calorie difference between the two. I am glad I bought it, (HRM), and never trusted what was shown here to judge how many calories I was taking in for the day. Now if I eat my exercise calories, with the HRM, I don't get scared I'm eating to much.

I find MFP to be just off in general...Sometimes it is too generous and other times it is not generous enough...My HRM is based on what my body is doing and not what generally people doing that activitity do.

For me, this site is way under about how many calories I burn. It was saying I burned around 300 cal and once I got a HRM I'm actually burning from 500 - 600cal during my 30 min workouts of insanity

Some were high, some were low, but the first week with my HRM I lost 2.9lbs

Major bummer - granted I only have a cheapy wrist-watch HRM that you have to continually "check in" with (which is almost impossible while doing the Shred) but I tried to check in after each section (so about 9 times) and it tells me 179 cals. :noway: Grrrrrrr
