Ole Miss has a good starting lineup but nothing after that. A couple of injuries and they are done. Bo Wallace is a lot of their offense and he was injury prone last year. Alabama could compete for the NC with their 2nd string

I think that their toughest game is behind them Texas A&M. However, LSU always seems to give them a hard time too.

I'm in the same boat as you, Mississippi State is my team but I think our "greatness" has ran it's course. After that I pull for any S.E.C. team. 7 National Championships in a row so far... this year will make number 8.

I wonder if the rest of the conferences like knowing at the start of each season that the best they can do is 2nd place.

Yeh, our underdog teams have great seasons or a couple of seasons like once every 4-5 years. I just hope for our sake when our time rolls around again. Bama and LSU are having off seasons. At least I can say we have the #4 & #7 running back in the nation at this point. Of course we haven't went up against an SEC defense yet. lol

I'm from the south and I honestly don't get the whole football craze, although my son will be playing for our homeschool team when he turns 7 and I will probably go crazy then, but as of right now....... no, although in a way I kind of wish I did

The big 12 is about equivalent to the big east of 3-4 years ago. I wouldn't touch that conference with a 10 foot pole if I was Satan, even if it is Texas. He'll spend all his free time doing interviews and programs for the LHN which could be interesting given his love of the media. Might make for actual watchable programming on the channel though (not that anyone gets it).

As bad as the Big 12 is, he'd have Texas "relevant" again even quicker than he had with Bama.

Remember before Saban Bama had a pretty crappy few years. Even getting beaten by lowly ACC teams.

Auburn/Alabama are religions around here. And if you live here, you have to pick one. One of the first things I check for when considering dating someone is if they are an Auburn fan. If not, it isn't exactly a deal breaker. But it definitely makes me examine the situation more closely.
