goals, ideas and dreams...

In a couple of weeks, it will be my second birthday since i decided to lose weight, and like last year, i won't have met my goal. Again. (Numerically i am just not overweight anymore, but my aim was lower.)
When i mentioned this to my husband, he realized his goal wasn't going to happen by then either. We both made a pact: "lets see who has a six-pack by christmas."
Seen as i will probably need to lose 30lbs to get there, i don't think the timeframe is realistic. So from the get-go i am dubious about my success.
Catching myself think that way, I started analyzing what i've achieved in the past 2 years since i've been on MFP.
I've lost 15 lbs (was down 20 at some point)
I've run 5k (goal achieved as planned)
I've run 10k (goal achieved a few months after it was planned)
I've run 21k (goal achieved before plan)
I'm down one clothes size, maybe 2. (not there yet)
I run 4-5 days out of 7 (next goal is to up the time and distance)
So, size and weight didn't get there, whilst exercise did. Yes, I know that is largely related with my aversion to counting calories, but on the positive side, i have got a better handle on my eating habits anyways.
Anyhow, my point is, i realized, in my head, running 21k is a goal, weighing 135lbs is an abstract idea and fitting into a size 6 a dream.
So, I've got to work on that...
It's all in my head, as it were
