Feeling more...emotional?

Hi all,

I will try to make this a quick question but I was wondering, when any of you started to lose weight did you feel really emotional at first? Lately work has felt more stressful, I've felt in more need of extra love from my boyfriend and just kinda feeling down. I've lost 7lbs so far so I have nothing to feel down about, this doesn't get in the way with my diet or exercise which has been going really well...I don't even feel deprived or anything..
Just a little extra about me, I haven't smoked in 6 months and i've almost completely stopped drinking alcohol which I would regularly consume a few drinks every other day...I also pretty much never worked out and just ate whatever I wanted (now I work out 5-6 times a week)...again I don't feel deprived with how things are going now. Maybe it's my body just trying to adjust from a pretty unhealthy lifestyle to a really healthy one.
Nothing will discourage me from this I just wish I felt super energetic and happy kinda like those people from the Body Break commercials hahaha
Thanks for reading everyone

If you used food and drink as a crutch before then I think it's normal to feel some unpleasant emotions at first. Have you created a large calorie deficit? If you're eating very low calorie plus exercise and not eating your exercise calories your body could be telling you that you need more fuel.

Weight loss can also mess with hormones and you may be a bit more emotional until they balance out.

Definitely yes about the calorie deficit. If I eat at too low of a deficit I feel extremely emotional. Generally sad, upset, and needy.
