i have been to see an alternative therapist and she has put me on this programme, has anyone tried this? I am a bit worried about cuting out all simple carbs and sugar - including fruit and milk.

I would love to know your thoughts???

Many thanks

  • Even though I am not an ideal weight I am a medical and medication tranied health advisor. Cutting out fruit of your diet is one of the worse things you can do to yourself. I would go and see your doctor that can advise you on a correct food plan. This diet sounds very very bad for your health. take care xx
  • Candida is another word for a yeast infection. I'm weary just because of that simple fact. hahaha.

Jenny - i am of the same thinking

The stuff on the net says that i can have quite severe symptoms and its a lifelong lifestyle change.

She did help me realise and make the decision to reprogramme my brain for over eating - i can feel full half way though a meal and will carry on eating. Since being a child i have had it drummed into me that i should eat everything on my plate, this has made me greedy and i finniah everything on my plate hungry or not. The lady told me to think when eating - and ask myself if i am hungry or just being greedy - i did this last night, and only ate half of my plate. It was difficult to leave but i just kept telling myself the world will not stop turning if you throw it away!!

Soooo all in all... i dont think it was a wasted session - she also made me think of a trauma that started me overeating and to address it and maybe see someone about it - to opt for living and not to be soo reliant on food as a cruch as i have been.

sorry for the long response.... i wont be offended if you dont read!! xx

Sounds like a yeast control program. If someone has a yeast infection or recurring thrush or anything like that from meds or whatever, a lot of times they recommend to cut sugars like fruit from your diet because the sugar feeds the yeast. I know some people who have had success controlling recurring yeast infections, etc by watching those foods carefully. But, if that's not the case, I dunno what it's for! Good luck!

In reading about it, the candida program sounds like it was designed specifically for people with chronic yeast infections and is used to starve the yeast (candida) of the sugar it needs to thrive. If it is being used for such health reasons, it definitely has purpose; just not sure about it being used for a lifelong lifestyle change. The approach has different stages, so would imagine that it would wean you back into adding fruits and dairy products once your health condition is under control, but that is certainly something I would ask my doctor about to be sure I have a good understanding of the longevity of this program. Good luck to you!

Thanks for the reply - i am thinking that scurvy from lack of fruit is going to be more of a problem. There are different stages but there is so much conflicting advice out there.

I would like to do it to loose weight but i would like to do it healthily rather than cutting things out - all in moderation would be something i can stick to. xx

    Thanks again everybody. xx
