The theme is Radioactive Wasteland. We are going to have it totally dark like there was a blackout, with just candles, glowsticks, and flashlights. There will be Quarantine signs EVERYWHERE.
But WHAT should we EAT??

Lol! The best I could come up with for the quarantine theme was either MREs or Hobo Stew.0 -
zombie fingers... Put some red coloring on chicken fingers in the shape of finger nails........ Lemonade is already yellow and if I'm not mistaken you can buy ice cubes with lights in them.....0

this site has some cute ideas...

Fried pig or cow brain sandwiches, sweet breads, headcheese0

Those are cute!
I was kind of hoping for something less labor intensive though. We will be having a chocolate fountain with white chocolate chips colored with green food dye!0 -
macaroni and cheese with spinach blended into the cheese sauce (to make it a sickly green) and pimentos
hot dogs cut in half, a fingernail shape cut into them, lines cut into them to look like finger joints
put hot dogs on mac and cheese in casserole dish. sprinkle with bleu cheese, bake, then drizzle with green chile sauce
made a similar dish (including cream cheese balls with olive slices to be "eyeballs") for my daughter's monster themed birthday party last year. It was a big hit, and quite tasty as well.
the hot dogs bake and curve slightly on the creases and look EERILY like de-fingernailed fingers0 -
Jello Brains.
I made them with alcohol here: http://www.isthisbliss.com/intoxicating-jellied-brains/
Pretzel rods look like fingers dipped in white (or green) chocolate, with an almond sliver for a finger nail. I don't have any photos of mine, but you can find them online easy enough. I got some cylindrical glass vases at the dollar store and printed up labels (I used cardstock, and glued them on with a glue stick) for them for different foods. Also had those stringy, pull-apart Twizzlers in a jar of "Candied Arteries."
Also good for making new labels for soda and wine. Made the Pepsi logo into little ghosts, turned Dr Pepper into Dr Jeckyl. I had way too much time on my hands, apparently.
And I used silicon skull-shaped ice cube trays (also from the dollar store) to make white chocolate skulls (can also be used to make sugar skulls) to top cupcakes of doom.
Mummy dogs are cute, too. Use half a hot dog or cocktail franks, and wrap them with strips of Pillsbury dough til they look like little mummies, and bake them.
Might want to consider adding some black light, and have foods that will glow in the dark: http://hubpages.com/hub/glow-in-the-dark-food0 -

Some really great ideas! I especially like the chocolate skull one, that is so cool.
Because the lights will be out, we are handing out flashlights as party favors (Dollar tree is awesome!)0
