Low carb thoughts?

Hello everyone
I am considering starting a keto or atkins based diet and was wondering what your general thoughts are on these low carb/high fat lifestyles? Reason being I have played around with my macros for some time, with very little success. I always kept my fat to 20-30% and increased/decreased carbs and protein.. Considering the poor results I am tempted to try Atkins or a keto diet

They suck if you're active and workout a lot because you will bonk on your training. They're fine if you're sedentary; beneficial if you're also insulin sensitive or have pre-diabetes/diabetes. You lose mostly water weight in the beginning which is where everyone gets excited because they've dropped 20 lbs in 3 weeks or whatever...but most of it's water and it eventually tapers off to a normal loss rate. Low carb diets still rely on a calorie deficit to actually burn fat. Unless you're planning on avoiding carbs your whole life, not very sustainable.0

I've done Atkins. It does work, but like anything, it has to be a lifestyle change. If you can't see yourself doing it for the long haul, it's pointless to start. If it looks like a WOE that will keep you happy and satisfied, go for it.0

I have done Atkins myself and yes it does work, but please keep in mind like all diets if you lose the weight and decide on eating starchy carbs again you will gain back the weight you lost and then some. Remember we are all different and our body is not the same, what works for one may not work for another, but always remember diets are what you make of it. As for me, I rather change my lifestyle by eating healthy.0
