Considering to do a 4 week trial to see how this works.
Basic idea: Eating fruits and veggies for 16-18hrs window (So nothing but fresh fruit or veggies or fresh juices or lean protien during the day, that is consider the 'fasting'.) Then at night you have no restrictions on dinner (obviously it has to be healthy, and such...but you eat until you are satisfied.)
Its a method that if you REALLY research it seems to have a little something behind it...I'm not totally sold on it, but I'm willing to test it out so I can give a full review on it.
What are peoples feelings on this theory of eating?
PLEASE no arguing...I tried posting this on another website and my forum was flagged because people couldnt act like adults. I just want honest opinions and such.
Thanks!

If i were to do it i would do the "eat whatever" meal at lunch, so your body burns it off faster....but fruits and veggies can never be a bad thing0

Thats what I'm thinking...I'm thinking you fast on fresh raw food all day, then you eat a big healthy meal and your body will be revved up from oxidizing and digesting the fruits and veggies and will burn off that meal...going to do this and review it for everyone...because if it works then I must share!0

I say give it a go! I bought the book and went on it for a couple of weeks. I FELT FANTASTIC! Unfortunately life got in the way and I was in situations where not eating during the day really wasn't possible. Business lunches make it TOUGH because people will think you are being rude if you don't eat. But yea, the science behind it seems sound, and I like the premise of it.
If you haven't already, I suggest buying the book. It's an eye opener and is fairly well written. The idea is to be alert and on your toes during the day (like the hunters would have to stay alert during hunting time) then when they got home from a long day of hunting they could feast with the tribe.
But yea, you will find that your energy goes through the roof! Reason being, is that your system isn't bogged down with digestion all day long. Your body stays alert and at its prime since it's not busy using all the energy up digesting all the processed crap that we eat these days.0 -
I am intrigued i need to jumpstart and get back into losing weight I dont think I could do it for 4 weeks but thinking I may try it for one...0

The Warrior Diet: Switch on Your Biological Powerhouse For High Energy, Explosive Strength, and a Leaner, Harder Body0 -
It sounds just like the Carbohydrates Addicts Diet............
Basically 2 low carb meals and then a "reward" meal for the last one. With CAD, you can eat whatever you want, but it has to be eaten within a 60 minute window.0 -
Ok I got online to find more out about the Warrior Diet. The name of the book is "The Warrior Diet" and is written by Ori Hofmekler. It does say that you eat one main meal at night, avoid chemicals, combine foods adequately and challenge your body physically. The Warrior Diet shows how to nourish the body in sync with its innate circadian clock, seperating between a.m. foods and p.m. foods for effective removal of toxins, increased conversion of fat for energy, increased utilization of nutrients and improved resilience to stress.
What this tells me is that you would need to buy the book to effectively participate in this diet since there are specific foods to eat at night and during the day. My next payday I am going to get the book and see how it goes since I can't get rid of my tummy or past my 140 lbs. This may just trigger my weight loss again and get off of this plateau I am on! They always say the last 10 lbs are the hardest to lose!0 -

Yes, you are correct, for the most part. You can feast on pretty much what you want, but Ori lists particular foods to focus on. Actually, and more importantly, it's the order in which you feast on them. You would have to read the book for exact details. But the bottom line, is that you snack on berries, some dairy, and small amounts of protein during the day, and you feast at night. I was getting results feasting on whatever I wanted at night, so although he gives guidelines for the feasting period, it's really about fasting on small "live" fruits/veggies during the day to minimize digestion, and eating the bulk of your intake at night.0 -
I do this once a week, usually Fridays or Saturdays when I know I am going out for the evening and am going to be drinking and eating what I normally wouldn't. I don't eat anything though during the fast, just liquids.
Basically it all boils down to calories in vs calories out...so if I eat 1500 calories once a day as opposed to 1500 calories spread throughout the day, the effect is the same.
It takes some willpower! It works great for me though, I feel I can enjoy myself thoroughly using this method. There is also some science to back up that it is good to change up your regular eating pattern. It is especially good for body builders who want to look lean.
Here's an article with some info: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/mahler49.htm0 -

Interesting experiment!
As you said as long as when you have your evening meal it is healthy stuff and not full of rubbish. You will probably be well ready for that meal too!
Best of luck with it all :flowerforyou:0
