Can someone please look at my food diary?

I would really like some advise if I am going in the right direction? I'm having to eat on a budget right now so as much as I would love to only eat whole foods and organic, I'm having to just stick with basic low calorie options. Also I am a vegetarian.

So my goal is to lose the last 10 lbs, these are often the hardest I have heard?

Thanks, I would appreciate any input!

I suspect calories are low and protein is really low. With 10 lbs to lose, 1/2 lb per week should be your goal. What are your stats and exercise routine?

BTW, there no benefit for whole foods or organic when it comes to weight loss, so don't stress that issue.

You need more protein for sure. Drop the Smart Ones. They have almost no protein in frozen dinners. Have a real serving of protein and vegetables for dinner. 60% wheat bread is not good either. Get the whole wheat kind where you can actually see grains of wheat in the bread.

I took a look, and IMO you have too much processed foods. You're on a budget, I understand that, but most of what you eat is expensive. Oatmeal is one thing that you can change. Get Quacker quick oats, about 2 bucks a tub and it's better for you than the prepackaged stuff with less calories and soduim. Beans and lentils are excellent on a budget and for vegetarians. Good luck with your journey.

I know you are on a budget, but you would be better off giving up Betty Crocker at 1365 mg of sodium and WW at 540gm sodium - buy some whole wheat pasta, tin tuna, fresh tomatoes, peppers, onions and make a meal from scratch - at least you are in control of the ingredients.

Lentils are cheap, high in protein and fiber. Black beans are another good choice served with a little rice, mixed vegetables and protein of your choice. I normally buy my Fage yogurt on sale at 10 for $10, otherwise I would have to pay $1.79 per yogurt. Keep an eye on your supermarket sales, this really helps me to save money.

Wow, thanks for your advise. I will definitely look at eating more lentils and beans - you are right, they are so inexpensive. All those vegetarian meats and tofu can be really expensive when you eat them on a daily basis. I'm going to look at making beans and rice or beans with pasta, I love those things!

I'm 5'4 and 123 lbs. My goal weight is about 115 lbs, I'm most comfortable and healthy looking at that weight. Also I don't exercise much, probably about 20 mins a day, it's not enough I know and it's out of laziness that I don't do more :/

I would say 1500 calories is more appropriate. Within that 20 minutes, i woudl suggest doing all body weight exercise to help with muscle retention. Also, suggest macro's at 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fats.

That's not true. The smart ones I get have 20grams of protein... There also isn't much nutritional difference between whole wheat and white bread.

I agree with the protein and veggies for dinner. I'd go a step further and say you should have some protein at every meal.
