Recommendations for passing CPAT test....

Hey everyone! I am preparing to go through fire academy next spring and need to pass the CPAT test first. Any recommendations for how to get in shape quick?? Also on very little money. I borrowed a sledge hammer from a friend since that is the number one failing point for ladies. I need to build my upper strength... especially my arms. One of my biggest concerns is having to wear the weighted vest throughout the test. I do not have $100 for a vest. Would weighing down my school back pack with sand work?? Any recommendations would be great! I also just want to get in shape and rock it!

I have a friend that is a detective in Arizona. She went through the academy in her mid-40's and I considered doing it myself. Her advice to me was pushups, given the importance of upper body strength, and she said that getting in a habit of doing pushups would really help. I would think that any of the upper-body body weight exercises would help...chin-ups/pull-ups, pushups, etc.
ETA: Way to go, YOU! :flowerforyou:0
