I'm looking for proteins that are low in sodium. Does anyone have any ideas??? I seem to run close to or over my sodium limit everyday and was hoping for some helpful ideas. I'm going grocery shopping tonight and am looking for dinner ideas. Thanks!

Friendship makes a whipped cottage cheese that is the lowest sodium cottage cheese I've found. I'm not a big cottage cheese fan, but something about the whipped kind I really like- I guess maybe it's the texture of the regular stuff that I don't like? I second the greek yogurt suggestion. Also, chicken and ground turkey have almost no sodium and lots of protein. They're good as a meal or as a part of a snack. Hope that helps :flowerforyou:

Chicken and turkey are good, skinless...AVOID processed stuff. So don't get the pre-cooked Perdue chicken strips, or the sliced deli meats. Those are the things with tons of salt. I love red meat - grass fed beef isn't that sodium dense and beefalo isn't too bad either.

I took a quick look at your diary, and it looks like the sodium is coming from sauces and such - not from real food. You can make things super tasty without adding on sauces that have pointless calories/carbs/fat/sodium. The more real food you eat, the less sodium you end up with in your diet. :)

Back on point...beans are good (you can get low sodium canned, or make em from dry), greek yogurt is yummy. Soy beans (edamame)
