Getting Ready For Onederland

I went to the kitchen, said a little prayer and got on the scale. All I wanted was another 0.2 pounds loss...just something to make me feel good...let me see that I was still losing. Instead, I got a 0.8 pound loss in just one day which left me looking down at the number 200.0 pounds. Yes, EXACTLY 200.0 pounds. I let out a squeal; and Ed asked, "Are you alright?"
Then, he came to the kitchen door, I got back on the scale to show him that incredible number. Leave to Ed to come up with the next comment. "Quick! Go to the bathroom and pee." They don't call my hubbie Special Ed for nothing. He always has something funny to say. The idea made me laugh, but I didn't plan to do that. :noway:
"No", I told him. "This is good enough for today. Now, I have something to look forward to on this coming weekend."
I may not get to weigh myself at the regular time tomorrow with our busy schedule. I may actually have to wait until Sunday, but that is actually a good thing. Tomorrow, we are going out to lunch at Golden Corral and attending a concert and a birthday party in the evening. This will inspire me to be VERY GOOD with my food choices tomorrow.
I will wait for my reward. Onederland for the first time in so many, many years is really a miracle. Why not celebrate it on Sunday? At least, I hope that I will see 199 on Sunday; but if not, it will come.
I am grinning from ear to ear at the prospect of telling my doctor that I have lost more than 80 pounds in the last year. I busted through my surgeon's goal and more.

Believe me, Sis. I know miracles. I am 68 years old, in a wheelchair and never thought that I would ever see the other side of 200 pounds again in my lifetime. For me...that alone is a MIRACLE.
In 1979, I lost 99 pounds and weighed 175. That weight loss lasted for less than ONE YEAR. :frown: I gave up trying to ever lose weight again. I decided that I would just be FAT for the rest of my life.
Except for that one short year, I have been on the 'Dark Side' of 200 pounds for past 50 years. I have been somewhere between 240 and 280+ pounds for MAJORITY OF MY LIFE. The fact that I have lost 80+ pounds is directly related to my faith in God to get me through, when I wanted to just give up...when I was tempted to eat like did in past...when I didn't think that I could possibly do what my surgeon asked me to do. Only my faith in God gave me the courage to try to lose weight. It would have been easier to just give up.
I know from where comes my strength. I know who to thank for the miracles in my life. That's why I pray, before I step on the scale and thank Him, when I get off the scale...on the good days and even on the bad ones. I wouldn't even be alive, if it wasn't for Him.
Sorry, but I have to use the word 'Miracle'.0 -
The miracle will come after your knee surgery and you can get out of that chair for the rest of your life. It WILL happen !!!0
-
Amen! Sister. You sure do have a miracle! Miracles happen everyday but we don't always look for them. But when we live through them on a daily bases we have a lot to shout and praise God for!0

You know, Golden Corral can be a good place to eat as long as you stick to the salad bar and fruit, and maybe some baked chicken. So proud of you, and so excited that you will be able to have your knee surgery!0

I already have my late lunch at Golden Corral planned out for tomorrow. I used the MFP food search to help me select a small steak and some tasty veggies. It is fortunate that I love things like steamed broccoli and cauliflower.0 -
Congratulations! Keep up the good work!0

Wonderful! So happy for you! :flowerforyou:0

I'm so happy for you! I hope you are proud of yourself and all the hard work you've put in. {{hugs}}0

Congratulations! I am so happy for you!! It won't be long and you'll be dancing...tell Ed he'd better get plenty of rest so he can keep up with you! I wish I could see your doctor's face when you see him next-tell him to never underestimate a woman on a mission (especially one with such a sweet hubby!). Be sure to treat yourself to something "wonderful" for making it back to the 100's.0

Congrats!!! That is wonderful. So glad that Ed was there to see you hit the 200 mark. You are such an inspiration. I have also battled being between 200 and 280 for the last 33 years (after my one and only pregnancy). I will remember your success as I
try for the last time (I hope) to find onederland myself.
Cheers

I'm right behind you at 204.2. Congratualtions!0

Yes, we must not forget to thank God who gives you and me the strength to control our weaker natures. I know that I am weak willed and that I depend on God to show me how to banish the food monster that I've supported for too many years. It might seem silly to a non-believer, but like you, I spent more than 30 years trying to do it alone and failing. Now I call upon God to sustain me in my choice to have a healthier life. I call it a miracle too, because I know myself well and I simply cannot do it alone.0

Wow what an amazing milestone to be on the cusp of.
Can't wait to check in this weekend to see the outcome.0 -

Great job sis, I was angry at my surgeon when he said he wouldn't operate on my knees until I lost at least thirty pounds. How dare he, doesn't he know how much pain I'm in (I said to myself) how can I exercise yada yada. Well I had an flash from the Lord, what is stopping you. Are you going to moan and cry or are you going to do something. So I gave up sodas Hey I lost a few pounds, then I found you guys on my fitness pal and I'm losing a pound a week. I already feel better and less depressed. I'm not in a fog like I was before, Now I bless that Dr. for making me angry. I can't wait to tell him about my fitness pal.   I called upon the Lord from whom comes my salvation.0

Good for you!!!!! I was 204.8 on Monday and I'm so excited to be this close. I haven't been under 200 since before I conceived my middle boy (he's nine).
WOOT!0 -
AWESOME, your almost there!0

Congrats and I know it is coming soon, but it is so hard to wait...at least for me!! I am cheering for you and can not wait to share in your joy when you reach your goal.
I too, feel my weightloss as a faith journey and the fact that I just got off my 40th seems like a miracle in itself. I have so much to go, but everyday, because of my faith and reading posts from you and others like you, I know I will reach where I need to be in time.
I believe once you have your new knees and you have healed from surgery you will feel like a new person who has a new found freedom. I can not wait to see the posts of all of the things you are able to do. The really great thing I have found with my exercise and weight loss is that I am daring to do things that I normally would have passed off as impossible or turned down with a "You know I don't do that.". Now, I like doing the hard things that I knew I could not do 3 months ago, and I praise God when I am doing it, because his strength and power and the fact that I am smaller than I was allows me to do it.
I think it is great to look for the miracles along the way, and praise Him for them. thanks for sharing your news.0 -
I am so proud of you and happy for your loss. As far as Ed's comment, I have done that and had a gain. Makes no sense0
-
Yay!! go you!0
-
That's amazing! Great job. I wish we could all watch your reaction tomorrow when you get on that scale and finally enter onederland. What an accomplishment. Congratulations!0
