This time I'm looking at "cheats" a little differently...

It used to be that anything that would put me significantly over my calorie goal, I would just go without.
While I had pretty decent success the last time around, eventually this mindset left me bitter and still hungry.
Now, if it's something I'm craving that is a little higher on the calorie side -- BUT! -- it is healthy... I'll just eat it. And feel better about it. No horrible guilt for going over, no horrible cravings for not eating what I want.
It's helping me have more control and make better decisions when I allow myself the good stuff, even if it does put me over.
Case in point:
Last night on the way home from work, Boyfriend and Roommate wanted to stop for fast food (we get off work around 2am so not many options). Though I was hungry and craving greasy salty pacification, I abstained and ate the cashews in my bag instead.
Today, I made boxed mac n cheese (yeah, not so great), but made it without milk, with Earth Balance instead of butter (and half the recommended amount at that), and complimented it with half a dozen veggies. And it's ****ing delicious.
So... I win.
Just thought I'd share...
