When did you start your diet/lifestyle change?

My one year anniversary for my diet is tomorrow, and I'm just wondering, how long has everyone else been on theirs? Have you stuck with it pretty much the whole way through? How hard was it? How much farther do you have to go? I'm about halfway to my goal weight currently.

I was diagnosed Diabetic when I was scheduled for knee surgery and they had to reschedule due to high blood sugars. It was a few days after that I found MFP. Since then I've been doing pretty well, over all, considering the drastic changes I did make in my eating habits. My best guess for previous cal. intake was around 3000 - 3500 a day. I decided I did not want to be on the meds. forever and the best way was to loose the weight. I started, Aug. 8 at 252 lbs., currently 243. I did get my surgery done so slowed up on my exercising, but slowly improving. My goal for now is to get down to 200 or 210. That may change when I get there, Doctors think I should be 180 at most. We'll see how I feel at 200.0
