regarding lunges.. am I cheating if I steady myself against the wall while walking lunges up and down my hallway? I know in some exercises maintaining your balance is half the challenge, but I'm just so uncoordinated!

I'm no expert, but I'll answer from my perspective.

I think that if you have proper form with the use of your walls then that is better than not using proper form. I think your cerebellum will eventually get what it's supposed to do and you will be able to eventually let go of the wall.

I think proper form is king above all else when it comes to exercise.

The balance will come with increased strength and practice. Definitely steady yourself at first if you need to. My two cents.
