time to see a doctor yet?
I've had terrible chest congestion coughing up stuff and constantly blowing my nose for 2 weeks. This doesn't seem like just a cold. My doctor has no appointments till mid October. what should i do? I've literally spent almost 30 dollars on over the counter stuff and nothing is working

Does your insurance cover urgent cares? If so, that's where I'd go, otherwise I would call your doctor's office back and tell them that you are very ill and need to be seen sooner than the middle of October. Normally they keep openings for the people who are really sick. Third option, ask your doctor's office if they have a PA who can see you instead of the doctor.0

Seriously???? Call your dr's office back and tell them you want an appt on Monday. Don't be a doormat.0

WOW, mid October? That is beyond ridiculous. In the UK we have the NHS, a lot of people knock it, but at least I know, if I phone my dr, I can see him today, or tomorrow. (although if I need surgery I need to wait a few months....)0 -
Call their after hours answering service to speak to a Dr on call - they will page them. If they think that it is serious enough they may tell you to call back on Monday to get in ASAP, OR, they might actually call in a prescription in for you.......it is worth a shot.0

That is how bad the allergy season is here. I've had that for a few weeks. Luck have it that it hasn't hit my chest like some others I know. It can lead to Bronchitis and Pneumonia. I would go see another Dr and get a script.0

Are you in the US? Is there a walk in clinic you could go to?0

try a walk in clinic. If you are coughing up green they will put you on an antibiotic. If not then the chest cold has to be over 2 wks on going and you will be put on an antibiotic. Other than that it is considered a virus and they do nothing. Sounds like you have both areas covered and are in desperate need of an antibiotic. Go to a walk in clinic or emergency if you can't get into your own doctor.0
