Fat burning help (was on slimming world)

After balloning to a ridiculous weight for my height I decided that I needed to take action and I have been following the slimming world extra easy diet for the last 10weeks and have lost 25lbs but have hit a brick wall and would appreciate some advice

3 weeks ago I joined a local bodybuilding gym and now I feel like I'm on the right path to getting fit and a leaner toned body, my issue is that I have not been getting enough energy from my food and would like to follow the daily allowance on MFP but not sure whether I need low calorie, low carb or just plenty of protein to get the needed energy

So far I have introduced a impact diet whey into my daily routine twice a day but it uses nearly all my protein allowance, am I ok to go over on protein but stay under on carbs and calories ?

Also does anyone have any advice on the best energy releasing foods ?

Final question if you don't mind answering, I've seen advertised supplements that you can take to increase your workout, are they just a placebo ?

Any advice will be appreciated

    Hey there,
would like to follow the daily allowance on MFP but not sure whether I need low calorie, low carb or just plenty of protein to get the needed energy

All foods have calories... if you stay close to your calorie goal, you will def. lose weight.

For weight loss - calories are the only thing that matters. For general health and nutrition, keep an eye on your carb/fat/protein macros - most people set them to 40/30/30. Also remember fibre, vits & mins and plenty of water!
Also does anyone have any advice on the best energy releasing foods ?

For quick release - sugars. For slower release - carb-rich foods like oatmeal, potatoes...

    Hope this helps x

If you're trying to lose weight, you need a caloric deficit. Personally, I am dubious of the usefulness/desirability of protein powder/shake in that situation, since they have lower satiety than "normal" protein sources, and you're probably going to be feeling hungry to begin with.
