Hi All!
I started this last Monday (9/16/13) weighed myself after I woke up and went potty. So,that is when I will be doing my Weigh-Ins (Monday mornings first thing)
I hope that I lost this first week. Even a pound would be nice! I have been eating right and exercising so, hopefully it shows up tomorrow!

  • I did my first official weigh in today after starting two weeks ago. When I started I guessed my weight and missed by about 5 pounds (the wrong way). So I put in my exact weight last Saturday, spent the weekend away, stayed within my calories in and calories out for the rest of the week and registered a loss. I was just hoping to get out of the 270's and I did. I am doing my best to wrap my brain around anything down is all I want to see. Hoping for a nice start to your second week. But remember a loss is a loss no matter what.

    Cheers
    Joanne

I haven't got scales at home, so when I am all alone Wednesday evening I'am going to see if there is a set of scales at my local leisure centre for my first weigh in. I know my weight has gone up and so its time to see by how much, I must admit I am dreading it. To anyone with a weigh in coming up, good luck and stay positive, focus, now is your time to shine.

Hi, Congrats to you all and good luck in weighing in yourself today or tomorrow. I started to weigh in ever 3 days :) and that started to stress me out. So I decided to weigh in once a week.
  • I know you will be a success !!! Have a great day and drink plenty of water :)

Good luck! That's a good strategy, weighing yourself once a week on the same day in the morning. Keeps things consistent.

Don't get too discouraged if the scale doesn't move right away for you. It took a couple weeks before the weight started dropping off for me even though I was eating healthy and exercising the same. Now it seems to be consistently 1-2 lbs lost per week.

Drinking plenty of water helps a lot as this reduces water retention in your body as well as helps keep your stomach physically full with something in between meals.

I agree with cdah1383 & don't get disheartened if the numbers on the scales don't move as much as you want ! If your honest , log everything & stick within your daily allowances it will happen . You may not see it on the scales as much as having NSVs ( non scales victories ) such as clothes fitting better & body shape changes . Take it from a serial failed dieter mfp does work .
  • Today marks my 5th day on here but tomorrow morning will be my first official weigh in. I know I've lost some since I couldn't help myself and got on the scale this morning. I always loose water wt first before actual fat starts coming off, so its nice to weigh less but kind of a bummer to know its not the real deal. I have seen a slight change in my face.. which seems to be the first place I notice anything. Best of luck and blessings to all for the weigh in. : )

I recently came back to after being gone for a long time. I have been doing this since may 28 and have lost 45 lbs by tracking every day and exercising. Nutrition is the key, track everything that goes in your mouth and add in exercise even it it's just 10 minutes a day. I could barely walk 1/2 mile when I started and am now walking 5 miles a day. You all can do this just realize it will take time. Just keep pushing and you will see the number move on the scale.

I started last Monday as well and will be weighing every Monday morning. I have been sticking to the diet during the week and training really hard for a duathlon at the end of November. Weekend wasn't so good as we had an attempted break-in but still managed to lose 6 pounds. Good luck with the weigh in today.
