I think that these days, they're used interchangeably.
Granted, each person may have a slightly different definition.
But I think they're pretty similar.

    Nerds do your math homework.

    Geeks play video games.

Nerds don't get invited to parties.

Geeks get invited but choose video games and Mtn. Dew instead

This is how I've always looked at it.

Nerds refer to the more academically conscious, while geeks refer to the more gaming-centric, pop-culture aficionado class of people.

Nerds are generally the clever ones who spend time studying and get straight A's
Geeks are usually the ones who sit at home playing WoW or Final Fantasy and get pass grades

According to my friend, he thinks

    Geeks get good marks
    Nerds are the gamer.

Also : A geek can be a nerd, but a nerd can't be a geek.

    I LOVE TV so.......

Steve Urkel on "Family Matters" was a NERD. The guys on the "Big Bang Theory" are geeks.

I think I'm more of a dork which is, to me, someone who does "der" stuff like walking into a closed sliding glass door or searching all over the house for my glasses when they are on top of my head, things like that.

The graph does sum it up nicely. But what does PMI mean? And can nerds and geeks have a good sense of fashion?
