Grapeseed oil?

Anyone used this for cooking? I read it has a third less calories than Olive oil and is basically the same price. I would love to find a healthier alternative for the times I need an oil like sauteing or stir fry. I was just wanting to get some opinions from others who have used it...

  • That is a great alternative, but if you're serious about losing weight, I wouldn't go with making fancy, high sodium dishes.
    But yes, occasionally, that and coconut oil are great alternatives for the "once in a blue moon" family meals.

    I believe Grapeseed is the same as Canola oil.

    It's a refined oil to start, not my favorite type, plus it's mostly polyunsaturated which really shouldn't
    be exposed to any light, heat or oxygen. There's also no calorie advantage, all oils are relatively the same except butter because of the milk solids and water. Personally I use duck fat if I wasn't going to use olive oil........virgin coconut oil might be something you could try.

    A good stir fry does not have to be full of sodium. Mine aren't.
