Is walking enough?

I think all of it works together for a fit person, but most of the people here are not all that fit. That is why we are here. At some point you have to burn the fat to see the muscle underneath and lifting weights is not an efficient way to get there, because most people cant lift for 2 hours and relying on muscle gain to burn calories is a trick that personal trainers use to keep clients coming back. They are telling the truth, but it is a horrible way to do things for most people and especially women, who are naturally 7-10% higher in body fat than men.
It also doesn't account for increased risk of injury, again women are more far more suceptible to ligament injuries (particularly ACL), and the number of people who will just not stick with it due to muscle pain.0 -
+1 on the cardio with weights thing.
I take 5lb dumbbells with me when I go walking / jogging, or if I'm on the treadmill or elliptical. Pretty much every day I'm swinging those weights. It really adds to the workout, and the caloric burn.
Every little bit helps!0
