Sugar Fiend

What do you guys consider to be a legitimate amount of sugar in a day not including sugar from fruit. I don't like how MFP includes fruit into the same category as refined sugar since it is a different type and source.

Also do you view all sugars the same or allow yourself more natural sugar?
I tend to stick with fruit over cake, but I do indulge at times.

I don't track sugar..... I personally don't see the point in it... I track carbohydrates, proteins, and fats...... beyond that of course I track my caloric intake but that is pretty much it... I do keep an eye on fiber.... My body will break the sugar down whether it is natural or processed. Best of Luck

I'm not a micro-manager of all my nutrients. I choose non-processed sugars 90% of the time and probably the other 10% come from ice cream (because I just refuse to give it up). It's a personal choice, that's all.

I have type 2 diabetes and when I'm hypoglycemic, fructose and sucrose affect me the same way. Glucose picks me up faster, but it's not a huge difference. Because of this, I treat them all the same.

I try to avoid sugars altogether, but sadly, when I cave, I find refined sugar much more satisfying than fruit. I'm trying to change that.

90 grams a day is one limit recognised "officially". The sugars in fruits are the same molecules as found elsewhere, in varying proportions.
