nothing like an ECG for motivation

Last week I went to the docs because i had some pain in my upper abdomen. Now, i was pretty sure it was muscular as i had been working in the garden all weekend and despite being super painful overnight, it had eased by morning and i had no other symptoms.
so i went to the docs anyway and she said she thinks its either muscular or gastric, but said because of the location i should get bloods and an ecg done anyway. thankfully my docs has an ecg machine and a pathology room their so i could get it all done at the same time.
so i have my ecg then after having blood done my doc says "there is a slight anomaly on the ecg, i will speak to the cardiologist at the hospital and call you if there is any issues" so i crap my pants and go home to wait for the phone call.
i get a call an hour or so later from my doc saying 'go to the hospital now and ask for the cardiologist registrar'
so i change my underwear for the second time that day and drive down. they put me on another ECG and leave me in the room while the nurse takes it to the cardiologist to look at. ten minutes later she returns and tells me that the cardiologists says its a perfectly normal ECG. i ask why my doctor said that there was an anomaly and she said its because GP's cant read ECG's properly and they would rather pass any liability on to a specialist. She said that she has had patients come in being told they are having a heart attack when there is nothing wrong.
i go back to the docs and tell her that the cardiologist said all was normal (to which she was surprised) and she check my blood results and all was fine with them also. She gave me some pills to take in case it was gastric, but i didnt take them because i knew in myself that it was muscular all along and lo and behold 3 days later i was fine.
but anyways, nothing like being hooked up to machines twice in one day and having the bejesus scared out of you to make you start on this journey again.
so hear i am with a plan of doing the couch to 5k program (3 days per week) and swimming/cycling (ride to the pool, swim, ride home) to get the ball rolling.
