I figured I would ask you all what you normally get at dennys before I get totally confused and such looking at the nutrition of everything on the menu. I know salads are not always the best choice and honestly Im not a sald eating typa girl blah, wish I was though sometimes. Anyways any good suggestions would be great. Its my daughters 5th birthday and she wants to eat there which is PERFECT since kids eat free on tuesdays there hehe. I was thinking of getting my usual and just eating half but then I was thinking uhh my usual might be alot to begin with. Then I was thinking maybe just a single burger and eating half of that. HMMM what do you guys think?

They have a fit fare chicken sandwich that you can sub in fruit for fries that is so good and the calories are great! They also have a grilled chicken salad and fat free ranch! Good luck, I love Denny's.
  • There fruit salads are yummy and it is fresh fruit. They have low calorie options on there menu. Have fun!:drinker:

denny's is dangerous for me i love it but when in doubt i always go with a garden type salad and bring my own lo cal dressing. well unless i just plain out fall off the wagon which i have been known to do. i don't recommend that though. enjoy your dinner out!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

I went there last week and had an amazing breakfast that was both yummy and healthy at the same time. They have a build your own slam thing where you can get four different things of your own choosing from this big old list of stuff. I ended up getting the turkey bacon, egg whites, low-fat yogurt, and the fruit cup. I was surprised how good it all was, and I was perfectly satisfied. I'll warn you though--if you get the egg whites, ask for them to cook them dry, because they cooked mine in butter -_- If you don't like breakfast much, and want something other than a salad, you can get a bowl of soup. It's high in sodium, of course, but it's a good option health wise. Their soups vary by day, but they always serve Chicken Noodle on a daily basis. I also believe they have a dinner with grilled shrimp skewers and vegetable rice pilaf. That wouldn't be bad either as long as you don't mind paying a bit more for it. If you go to the Denny's website, you can view the nutritional information online and you can even download it to your computer if you want. Hope this helps!

    A general rule of thumb:

Say "no" to cheese, fries and mayo and order a side salad with dressing on the side.

I got the following values from CalorieKing.com's food database, an awesome resource.

    Good choices:
    Sandwiches
    BLT- 520 cal (w/ mayo)
    Club Sandwich- 640 (nothing removed)
Fit Fare Chicken Sandwich-- 450 (with fruit!)

    Dinners
    Grilled Shrimp Skewers-- 370
Fit Fare Grilled Chicken and Veggies-- 380

thanx guys I had no idea they had a low cal menu. the chicken sandwhich sounds just up my ally though I have to have mayo. I dont normally do cheese on chicken so thats no prob BUT i never stay away from cheese since I dont get enough calcium in during the day . I love the frys but Im going to stay away since its fattening and it makes me hae to use the bathroom all the next day lol.

OK so Ive decided to get the fit flar chicken sandwhich w/ fruit and according to the dennys website (it wasnt on here untill I added it) its only 450 calories which is perfect cuz thats all I had left today. I did go over a tiny on sodium but man its hard any other day to stay under on that. Im pretty happy. Looking at how much crap is in teh frys i normally woof down makes me not want them at all and I know as my parents and my husband are eating up thier meal I wont be able to help but gag at how many calories and other fats and crap they are eating lol.

That is so true! It's crazy to all of a sudden "care" and be "aware" of what we put in our bodies.
