Hi all, I have trouble with my energy during the day and find it hard to get in my excercise during the day because I have very low energy most days. I have fibro, so unless I get an amzing sleep, I am exhausted when I wake up. I am forcing myself to eat but some days don't eat breakfast for a few hours cause I just dont have the energy. By nightime to some of the pain has gotten better sometimes from the meds all day.

It's when I am giong to bed that I fear waking up stiff if I don't do anything which usually motivates me to at least do my yoga (stretching and some strenght training) sometimes from there I have energy to do other stuff.

This morning I did my morning routine of 17 mins thinking I would do some step or dance later today but I just dont have the energy. I also think I may be getting sick too! So I am wondering if night time is the only time I can summon energy to do some excercise wether it be light stretchng or some cardio is this ok??

It's better to do it late at night than not at all right? My sleep schedules are messed up anyways from the fibro so it interfering with my sleep isnt an issue since there is already a problem there. ha ha Sometimes it really zonks me out too!!

I feel guilty because all i did was 17 mins of yoga and strength today.

Can I have other thoughts on this from those of you with fibro, or even if you don't have fibro.

I too have fibro, so I know how hard it is sometimes to find the energy just to get out of bed and get dressed. I think if you are able to do anything you should be proud of yourself. Do what you can. I find that if I push myself too hard my body shuts down, then I end up doing less in the long run. Just try to do something everyday, I dont think it matter what time you do it. And be proud of yourself for small accomplishments. I have been trying to do swimming and walking most days, but I take one to two days off a week. Right now that is really all I can do but I am hoping to gradually be able to do more and more. What have you found that works?

I know the energy is hard. My meds make me tired but it is what makes me able to excercise and move. Some days I do an hour or 45 mins of wii fit. A few days when I can get to the gym I will do thirty mins on the treadmill. I haven't been swimming as much I was hoping to go at least a few times a week but that hasnt worked so far.

At the very least since the 11th of July I have only missed about 6 days of doing wii fit. On probably half those days it was because I went to the gym or went for a walk instead. SO I have been fairly steady on doing at least my yogo/strength routine to loosen my muscles. Sometimes I go way over board and do an hour of cardio on that.

So I guess my day off would be when I only do my yoga/strength routine. But I feel guilty cause I am trying to get in 30 mins of cardio every day. that has not always worked

I am still pretty stiff on the wii fit yoga but i do it and it hurts but most times it feels better after. Then the last few weeks I have been doing 20-30 mins of cardio with or without my reg routine. If I only burn 75 cals I guess I feel guilty and try to eat about 300 less cals to make up for the lack of excercise.

Honestly just preparing all my snacks and eating and making dinners and keeping up with the kitchen tidying is all I have time for. I always need a nap but have tried not to do that lately.

Hopefully tomorrow I can go swimming if I feel better and burn losta cals there! Ihave a sore throat the last two days so maybe Im getting sick.

If I dont post t hat I excercise tomorrow - KICK my *kitten* for me! LOL

I don't have fibro, but I do have costochondritis, which is often lumped in with fibro, but it's just in my chest. Anyway, as far as energy: are you taking vitamin B? That helps me a LOT with energy. Also, if you can't do a full breakfast in the morning, try keeping grapes around (I like to freeze them). Eat two or three, and see if that wakes up your appetite. Or have a cracker. I can't always "dive right in" to breakfast.(It takes me about 10-15 minutes to get hungry after that).

As far as workouts go, you did 17 minutes more than nothing! That's excellent! But try just doing 5 minutes at a time, if the whole workout seems daunting. You'll often find you keep going!

Too tired to do anything? Just stretch your arms above your head or point your toes as far as you can. The change in blood flow can give you an energy lift and if nothing else- you stretched!

Don't get down on yourself and just do a little every day!

Thanks. I find that just by doing my 17 mins of stretching that helps but dont usually have energy to do that till late at night! I am trying to do it in the morning so that if I don't do anything at least I have done that!!!

    Thanks for the encouragement!

Mornings are overrated. I use them for coffee, breakfast, and swearing at my alarm.

I hate morning when I work, it is so hard to drag my butt out of bed!!! I frequently swear at my alarm too. However, unfortunately, lately I have an internal alarm clock that is set to go off every 5 or six hours :(
