Hi,
My weight loss journey started 2 Years ago, I had been suffering with depression on and off for several years, I finally decided to do something about my weight after my doctor recommended exercise to help with my Depression.
Here is a picture of me at my heaviest weight on my wedding day 6 years ago, I was 276lb's
I started out with some simple Exercise using a Fitness "game" on my PS3, slowly the weight started to come down and started feeling fitter and a little better, my feelings of feeling low were starting to ease off and i was finding that i was having more "good" days. I was also now down to 217lbs.
The Exercise was starting to help, I still had bouts Insomnia though and ended up seeing a late night Infomercial (you know the ones lol) for Insanity, i was feeling brave so decided to give this a try as it looked like the challenge i needed to set me on the path to my goal weight (180lbs).
After 2 weeks of doing this program I stumbled upon MFP, and it helped me get my nutrition under control, I now log my Calories everyday and try to hit my Macros.
I have completed the 60 days of Insanity, something that i never would have been able to accomplish before, this has all been down to controlling my calories and a lot of Inspiration from other MFP users, I'm hoping that one day i will be at a healthy weight and look and feel healthy.
I now Weigh 196lb's my Journey is far from over as i have now made this a lifetime commitment, from reading other posts on here i now realize that losing weight isn't something to be done via Fad Diets it is something that takes a lot of Commitment.
Yes i will have days of not eating healthy, I will have days of eating junk food, but MFP has given me the tools and Knowledge to recognize that this is just a speed bump in my lifelong journey. I didn't get to where i was 6 years ago by occasionally over eating or eating junk food, i did it by doing this consistently.
Here are my Before and After Side by sides.
Left is before Right is after.
