Quick question here. I'm/275lb/6ft/48yo. I stopped drinking my liquid crack (Mt.Dew) 1 week ago. That's 1020 calories daily. So by just stopping that I should be able to lose weight big time, right? I'm not only doing that by no means though. I'm on 1900 calories and exercise plan. I was just wonder if that was correct thinking? Still getting used to it not in the system though. Who Knew H2o was so good, lol. 1 week in and I really like MFP. This is kinda fun!

Cutting the mt dew will allow you to eat more food which will increase satiety and give you a better chance of losing weight without the need to binge. I switched to diet dew which I drink daily but I still knock back 2500 calories and lose weight. Soda alone won't make you gain weight if you don't exceed your TDEE.
Do yourself a favor... go to your goals and change your macro's to incorporate more protein and fats. I like macro's around 40%carbs and 30% proteins/fats. This will help with satiety as well.0
