Has anyone done this? Anyone interested in joining me?? If you needed an extra kick up the bum to get started, let this be it :D I've run a few 5K's before, but I've been interested in increasing my distance for awhile.

I started week 1 this morning, of 16 weeks. Eeeeek! I guess I had better sign up for a half in January to keep me motivated.

Oh how fun! Half marathon is one of my favorite race distances. When I trained for my first half, I used Hal Higdon's plan. Pretty awesome.

Good luck on training and your race!

I use run keeper for tracking my mileage and pace, but I have never used the training programs!! I loosely followed a training plan for my first half, however I should have followed more closely, I peaked too soon and ended up slightly over training out of fear!! I still finished strong, but was exhausted the few weeks leading up to the race and at least a week after!
  • I've been following the RunKeeper 3:45 full marathon plan (more or less, I'm actually doing a bit more than what it calls for) but it's a solid plan.

Kristi - how much is 'over' training??

Pete - glad to hear it's working for you, hopefully I get good results too!
