Counting Calories

Does anyone else have any issue with actually hitting their minimum calories? I am just starting back with my goal of losing weight, but I am feeling pretty full and I have been eating a good amount today but I am still supposed to eat another 750 calories. What is the bare minimum calories that I should be eating in order for my body to not go into starvation mode? Am I the only one that has this issue?

How many calories you should consume and what a safe minimum for you is really dependent on your height, weight, age, activity level, etc.
Do you know your BMR and TDEE? That's usually a good start in figuring out what you should be eating. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/0 -
\My minimum goal is a a couple hundred above my BMR of 1400, so 1600, which I have no problems hitting on a daily basis. My goal is actually 1900, and I am usually within 100 cals or so on either side of it.
To get more cals without necessarily eating a heap more food, eat calorie dense foods like avocados, nuts and nut butters, full fat dairy, cheeses, use olive and coconut oils in cooking and dressings, etc. You can add a healthy dose of calories to your day with a handful of raw almonds for a snack, or dipping sliced apples in a tablespoon of peanut butter. They add up quick, get you to goal, and fuel your body.0 -
Have you made major changes to your diet? The reason I ask is this:
1. Your calorie target involves a pretty serious deficit, since your goal is weight loss.
2. You were not losing weight before restarting your plan. That means you were eating at maintenance (or more), not at a deficit, without having to force yourself to eat in order to meet that (unstated) target.
3. Now that you've restarted, you find it hard to meet your target, so your deficit is even greater than planned. Yet you don't feel hungry enough to eat until you've hit your target.
The most likely conclusions I would draw from these three premisses are:
1. You are overestimating calories burned by exercise, underestimating calories eaten, or both;
OR, 2. You have changed your diet, so you're eating a lot more food that produces a feeling of satiety--or possibly, you're eating more slowly and realizing that you're full after eating less than you used to.
If you're really not hungry, don't eat; let things continue as they are for 2-3 weeks. If conclusion #1 is true, you won't lose weight. If conclusion #2 is true, you will.0 -
Recently I have been having troubles hitting it as Ive been eating very carb and calorie dense foods. So even when I see I have about 300 cals left I realise I am over on fat and carbs so I have trouble finding something else to squeeze in, plus Im pretty full.
I just love my pizzas and takeaways, sorry. lol0 -

There is no physical sign that I know of to indicate that you are in starvation mode. I could be wrong, I am no expert. I feel like I have been trying to lose the same last 4 pounds for weeks. According to charts, if I am 5'9, my ideal weight is 162, if 5'8, it is 155. I guess I should check my height. It is am arbitrary number, I am happy with the size of my waist, 29". It is smaller than I thought it would be.0
