Those are all really great exercises with great benefits, and with the right diet all exercise can "melt" fat.

But lunges, squats and high knees are not exactly "floor" exercises. If they are talking great floor exercise they should have included mountain climbers, planks and bridges instead.

Exercises don't melt fat, eating at a deficit decreases fat depositis.

Exercises are great for your body, and there's nothing wrong with these basics, but sweating isn't fat melting, and neither specific types of food nor specific exercises inherently "melt fat."

Abs are made in the kitchen, not by laying on the floor.

So, energy for exercise never comes from fat stores?

    Really? Come on now.

and to answer your question, not if you aren't eating at a deficit . . . I mean really?

Really. Burning calories is the only way to get a deficit. Exercise is extremely important in weight management.

Nope, I know lots of people who don't live my life style and manage their weight only through consumption fluctuations alone (lose weight eat less, gain weight eat more). Exercise is important to me, and it may be important to you, it's not important to weight management.

Take two people who eat at TDEE minus some percentage. One exercises diligently, the other does not. The one who exercises diligently will lose more weight, faster than the one who does not.

Exercise absolutely can be a significant component of weight loss.

You wouldn't need any calories if you didn't burn any. Just sayin'
