Ok here goes. I suppose I've been putting this off for a couple of weeks.

I started using this site about 2.5 wks ago after my girlfriend showed it too me. Im 46, male and in the UK. Ive been suffering from back issues over the years and the past year it has come back with vengeance. Id lost my full time job and a life around the house being a couch potato just made my back get worst. I put on some weight, got even more unfit.

I Started using the site to start tracking what im eating and try and set myself a few goal although motivation seems hard.

1. and most important I suppose as it will effect all is to try and strengthen my core. Loose some weight around my middle and see if I can get anywhere near finding some abs again. STRENGTHEN my back and try and get rid of some of this pain.

2.Id like to generally get back in shape again and add some muscle all over, so I don't mind taking my shirt off again in the summer.

3. Join a gym and start getting back out more. Motivation seems to be hard to find. as im sure it is for many.


I suppose this is a start. Im just trying to learn about foods / diet idea's. How to loose my unwanted weight and put on muscle in places where id like it. If its at all possible.
Or do I diet and loose my fat and also some of my muscle 1st then try to build the muscle back up ?
