Tell me it gets easier! C25K

I've done 1/2 of C25K Week 1 Day 2 today. It's killing the backs of my legs - and I'm trying to stretch.
I'm running outside and I'm wondering - does it get easier?
I couldn't finish it today... Week 1 Day 1 I managed most of it...

Just take your time. It took me 12 weeks to get through the 9 week program.
But I was able to do a half-marathon last year because of that program... it really works if you take your time and keep at it.
The other thing I do is never run two days in a row. Your body needs the time off, IMO. Well, mine does anyway!0 -
I started at the beginning of June and running 60 seconds at a time was quite enough for me. 8 weeks later I'm running a mile and a half in one go! It definitely gets easier. Every time I run it gets a bit easier. Now I've abandoned the program and I just warm up for 5 minutes walking, run for as long as I can go (20 minutes for 1.57 miles last time) and then walk on an incline for the last 10 minutes or so. But I started with C25K and it got me to that point0

Yes, it gets easier! I've been running 1 minute walking 1 minute running intervals for awhile but my total interval time was only about 10 minutes and now doing C25K it's supposed to be 20 minutes. Well, needless to say...I should be on week 4 but this week I'm HOPING to start week 3. I did week 2 twice after I tried week 3 and seriously could not make it. I imagine I'll be a 12-week finisher like macmadame!0

It does! I started C25K in June (though not very committed...) and am running my first 5k next month. The first few times I ran my legs hurt so bad I could barely sit down or stand up but your muscles will adjust to it. It may take longer than 9 weeks, oh well, the important part is to stick with it!!
3.1 miles isn't nearly as scary as it seems at first. Pretty soon you'll be ready to move onto a 10k!0 -
It does! With patience. A few tips (I'm: on week 9):
-Take a few days between runs. I do each workout three times in the week, usually tue, thur, and sat or sun.
-I repeat a week if I can't get through the complete workout. My goal is to do each workout three times (except for the weeks where they only want you to do it once) and then move on to the next week. So, I've actually been doing the program for more than 9 weeks...but I'm getting through the workouts!
-Just keep moving. Don't worry about how fast you are going or how far...just keep going!
-I really like the podrunner intervals C25k--the music has helped and all I have to do is push play and go.
Good luck! I'm so proud of what I'm doing...you will be too!0
