Coming Back

Found out two months ago that I have stage IV melanoma cancer in my lungs. Boy has that thrown me for a loop. I had lung surgery to remove the tumor in August and I'm still trying to recover from that. Needless to say my workouts have been shut down until I'm fully healed.
This has caused me to gain 18lbs of the 40 I lost back. Also found out that I have something called Empty Sella Syndrome. This is where the pituitary gland in my head has been flattened out, giving it the look that it has disappeared. The pituitary gland controls all the hormones in your body, including the ones that control your metabolism. This would be why I haven’t lost any weight no matter what since Feb. 2013. I’m trying to stay positive through all of this and I’m hoping that coming back to MFP and starting again will help me track the foods I’m eating to lose wight AND fight cancer as there are a lot of foods I’m supposed to get into my body every day.
Anybody with information on pituitary issues and/or cancer fighting foods I'd love to hear from you. This lifestyle change was already difficult when I started it a little over a year ago but it just got a lot more harder. And a lot more important to be sucessful as I am not doing chemo for the cancer.
Thank you!
