question about weight lifting

About a month ago, I started a program at the y called activtrax. It has added floor exercises for toning and wei mght lifting to all the cardio I have already been doing. I still want to continue to lose but seem to be stuck. I lost less than a pound since I have started. I am still getting your shrinking comments. I was getting a little relaxed on my eating and have brought it back down a bit. My goal without working out is 1580 but rarely do I come in under that so not sure if that is my issue. My question is do you think the weight lifting is the result or should I bring my calories closer to the goal. I do workout so sometimes I can afford to come in higher I think and other times when I am not working out maybe I should make better choices. I been at this weight loss thing for almost two years and getting a little burned out. Sorry for any typos. My smart phone doesn't like me.

Whenever you change a routine, increase intensity, etc... your body will retain water for muscle repair until it adapts. It's possible this is one culprit. I don't know your lifting background, but if you didn't do any strength or resistance work before starting this program you were losing LBM and Fat. Now that you have started a resistance program, of sort, you're doing more work to maintain muscle mass as you lose only fat. This will cause the scale to move slower, or have periods of no movement at all (or increase). This could be what you're seeing, if in deed you are eating at a deficit.0

Thanks. I did do a couple months of body pump but quit cause the time didn't work for me. Its been about 4 or more months since I done it. I love with this program that I don't have to go at a specific time I will try to relax on the strsssing about the numbers for a while..0
