How concerned should I be with sodium intake?

I ALWAYS go over my "allotted" sodium for the day, but I have no issues with my blood pressure, etc...how concerned should I be with cutting my sodium intake?

Barring medical issues, the only other thing to be aware of with sodium is that it will cause you to retain more water. Drink more water and eat lots of vegetables and you'll be fine.

Unless there's a medical need to cut it back I shouldn't worry too much. I've learnt it can retain water in your body so you might not see the scale move for a few days but flush it out by drinking loads of water and you'll be fine.

Correct... If you weigh yourself daily, this will make your numbers eratic.

If i go over my sodium, it takes about 3 days for it to go out of me.

Depends on how active you are. If you're a distance runner or athlete, your activity will typically deplete any reasonable excesses that you have. If you're sedentary, you probably want to cut it back. Your electrolytes do balance each other; as long as you're getting your RDA of potassium, calcium, and magnesium, you should be healthwise fine.

With that said, are you eating a reasonable amount of green things?
