Any thoughts on the 5:2 plan?

I have been hearing a lot about the health benefits of mini fasts of <600 calories, 2x per week. I've read that it promotes lower blood pressure, helps reduce cholesterol, keeps sugars balanced, and helps to lose weight. Has anyone tried it? Any opinions?

    I tried it. I found it too difficult for me personally, so so severely restrict my calories on two days, and then try to keep to maintenance on the other 5. I was just SO hungry on maintenance days I would usually go over. For me, a daily restriction works better. HOWEVER, many people have used it successfully and love it. You won't know until you try!
