So you know when you complete you daily diary and it gives you that message...'if every day were like today....'. Has anyone actually made it to that weight in 5 weeks? Or even made it to that weight at all?

No. Especially not now that I'm getting close to my goal weight. I just kind of roll my eyes at that.

I have never paid attention to it but I was thinking that the other day when I saw it. I have a friend that is also using MFP and she said it is pretty accurate. So I marked it on my calendar and I am going to see if I can get there in 5 weeks.

Nope. I've been trying to lose the last 5-7 pounds for about 2 months now, and I haven't gotten to that weight yet. I kind of roll my eyes at it too, and try not to pay much attention to it.

Yeah. I mean it varies a lot by day, but when I was losing I lost at pretty much the rate I expected (and the rate MFP projected).

It's a projection based on linear mathematics...given that weight loss isn't linear, it's not going to be dead on...but when I was losing, it was pretty close as I lost pretty consistently...I'd say ultimately it was within a few pounds. The closer you get to goal and/or the less you have to lose, the less accurate it is in my experience.

I log what it says in the note box and compare. It has been accurate a few times as I look back.

This gentleman took it to another level.

Well, mine has never been accurate and has had up to a 12 lbs variance which is a HUGE variance for my size now.

It's been pretty close for me. Maybe just luck.

Yes, mine's pretty close. I have my calories set to lose 1 lb a week, and I'm losing about that much. I think it's because I eat very close to my calories each day. If I have 50 calories left, I will havea 40-cal ginger snap. :-)
