The old recommendation for sodium was 2500 mcg but it was lowered over a year ago to 1500.

I limit myself to 1,800mg and my log reflects my customized goal. 2,500 is insane.

What I've read is between 1500 and 2300, and that the only people who should aim for the low end are people with medical issues that could be exacerbated by higher sodium. It's more important to have your sodium and potassium fairly balanced (in terms of blood pressure) anyway. I would go for 1500 as a minimum unless you sweat a fair bit, or eat ketogenicly.

I try to balance out my sodium and potassium. My BP was checked 2 days ago, and the result was 112/74
