How long does water weight last for YOU??

I am interested what the average length of time peoples bodies hold on to water weight after a "cheat" or "re feed" or whatever. *lol* I eat moderately low carb 100-150 most of the time, but life happens and I enjoy it when it does. I tend to gain 5-7 lbs of water weight when I do, and it takes generally 7-10 days to come off. Seems like a long time to me, but what do I know!!

SO, clue me in, how long do YOU generally hold on to water weight?? :D

If I eat at a restaurant or something (where the food has way more sodium than what I normally eat), the scale will be up 1-5 pounds a day or two after, and then it takes about three days for it to start going down again. Is that what you meant?

I had 2.5lbs of water weight from changing my exercise routine...it took 2 weeks for it to go completely...

2lbs on Friday were gone and now the other .5 is gone.

My body is something like 60% water, so it's ALWAYS there. And no, it never goes away.

Yea, it was a joke... but the point of it is a good one. You'll always have water weight. Focus on losing fat, not water.

I've lost all my fat, see ticker below. I don't sweat water weight, I was just curious how long it hung around on other peeps because 7-10 days seemed a rather long time, that was all...sigh.

It usually takes me till Wednesday to recover from a "good" weekend ;) That is with a lot of lemon water...regular water...green tea...to flush all th sodium out.

I can "flush" myself in about 2 days if I try.

I agree. When I take a week off from the gym I drop about 4-5 pounds. So, I chronically hold on to water weight just because I am strength training regularly. It wouldn't make much sense for me to focus on that water, better to just focus on the fat loss/muscle gains.

If it's due to sodium, that usually comes off in a couple of days. When I change exercise, that can be a couple of weeks. I haven't played around too much with carb refeeds because those are slippery slope for me, but I could see those easily being a week or more.

I don't "cheat" or "refeed" so I don't experience this at all.

Goes on a pound a day for 3 days - falls off after that over the next week.

Usually, 3-4 lbs. and it takes about 3-4 days to take it off again.

Thanks for the replies guys! Sometimes it is nice to see what happens to others in relation to what happens to ones self!
