I upped my protein...but am I eating too much now?

I knew even before logging my diet on MFP I was deficient in protein. MFP recommends I get 45 grams. So, I started to up my protein in the last twenty days. I was surprised to see my protein at 60, 80 even 90 grams many days. I know there are kidney issues associated with over comsumption of protein. I plan to scale back. Much of the protein was consumed in the form of peanut flour (basically ground peanuts you can make into peanut butter or add to smoothies, etc.).
Any thoughts? Could I have done damage in these last few weeks of eating all this protein?
Note: I currently do not exercise (some walking).
I try to meet calcium goals.
I am about 98 pounds (it fluctuates) and am about 5'5''.

Huh... I'm 5'2, weight 130 (I think) and I eat between 150 - 170g of protein a day.
MFP's macros are set very very low
You have nothing to worry about0 -
thank you for replying. from the outside research i have done (google), I've read that you should eat 1 gram of protein for every 45 kilograms of body weight. I am about 45 kilograms; thus, I should be eating 45 grams of protein per day.
It is confusing. I always thought if you were going to eat more of something...protein is the way to go.0 -
I do have kidney problems that flare up if I have too much protein. I've kept my macro at 25% and haven't seen any problems yet. I get +/- 100 grams a day.0

I got mine set at 98g of protein, calories are at 1300. I have mine set at 40/30/30.0

I wouldn't worry about eating too much protein ...the problems you mentioned are probably ketosis related which you would have to eat a ridiculous amount of protein to achieve, to a point where you would be going over any sensible calorie deficient diet.
so yeah as long as you don't have any prior problems its not an issue. I even find it helps with satiety to up my protein levels from time to time0 -

Thank you. I was finding that I would "binge" on peanut butter at night so i figured i was craving protein/fat. The peanut flour gave me the fix I needed without all the additional calories of PB...but I also got A LOT of protein with it. I agree it helps with satiety.0 -
If you have compromised kidney function already, then, yes, too much protein can be an issues.
I've been eating a minimum of 120g (about 40% of my macros) a day, for years. I was born with 1 kidney and have had zero issues. Eat your protein, drink enough water, and have no worries.0 -

Thank you. no known kidney issues. i did have a kidney stone about 16 years ago that passed without complication. I think i will enjoy my protein! (got to work on the drinking water issue, though)0
