Hi everyone!

Like many people, I like to track my exercise using apps on my phone. What are some of the best apps you have found that accurately count your calories by taking your height, weight, etc. into account? I have an Android.

Also, what are some workout classes you have done that have worked? I've heard good things about Body Pump, Zumba, Hot Yoga, Yogilates, and others.

Just looking for some ideas! :)

  • My friend LOVES her hot yoga class. She feels so much better when she's done. "I can feel the toxins leave my body." LOL

I don't have a calorie counting app, but I do love my GPS app "Map My Walk." It lets me know how far I've walked and what my pace is. Like today on my lunch hour I did 3.5 miles in 52 minutes. Nice to know I got that far.

I haven't taken any classes but I love apps!!!

    Here's the ones I use;
10K for Pink - 10K training. Started this one after I finished the C25K version.

Garmin Fit - I have the ANT+ dongle, HR Strap, Foot Pod, and Cadence sensors that go with this app. I only really use it for cycling.

Nike Running - I use this one to track my running. Oh and have friendly competitions with my friends on who runs more.

My Asics - Can't really rate this one yet. Using it in conjunction with 10K for Pink. It give me my distance and pace times for that days training. I just got it like 2 days ago. Serious training is scheduled to start on October 1 for a 10K Turkey Trot in November.

Nike Training Club - It's like having a workout video in your pocket at all times. There are different levels, weights, workouts. Pretty nifty little app.

iBiker - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON DIGIFIT APPS. I originally got all of my Garmin sensors to go with this app but have serious connectivity issues with it. When trying to get support for the issue all I get is "wait for the next update, that'll fix it." If it works for you it is a great app. If it doesn't you just wasted a crap ton of money.

Kangarun - Haven't used it yet. Being a beginning runner I wanted something to help me figure out where I am expending unnecessary energy. This app is supposed to do that.

Runkeeper is awesome! I can use it for running, walking, cycling, hiking, etc. It maps your path and gives you a lot of stats, plus you can see calories burned in progress (helps me keep moving). You can set goals, like losing 25 lbs by a certain date or running 100 miles by a certain date. If you do intervals, you can set workouts up, too. You can also do C25K training on there.
I use the Map My [fill in the blank} but Runkeeper is my favorite.
I've heard the Zombies Run apps are awesome, too.

    My favorite apps:

Epic Workout - this is great because it tracks your strength training. It is a pretty simplistic app, but easy to use and does it's job.
Runkeeper - switched from Endomoto to this... LOVE IT Endomoto was great too though
Zombies Run - I can't say enough about it... LOVE LOVE LOVE

My favorite app is Gain Fitness. No, it isn't for cardio, it is for weight lifting. It makes it very easy to design workouts and log your reps and sets. It even comes with videos to demonstrate the proper form for each. You can download different exercise packs to suit your needs. Awesome app that I use four to five times a week.
