135 to 105 in 3 months

Although I don't think you were getting all of your essential nutrients from that diet, congrats on reaching your weight loss goal. The rate of weight loss that you underwent was ~2.5 lb loss per week, which isn't as extreme as others I've seen. The important thing is that you're happy and you're now incorporating whole nutrient-dense foods into your diet.0

Offering a suggestion (based on the information provided) isn't the same as giving a diagnose.
You should read the stories of those recovering from eating disorders. Many "thought" they had lots of energy too. But all I did was provide links just in case. I made no accusations. If you feel defensive, maybe you might need to think why instead of projecting. :flowerforyou: Best of luck to you
Not directed towards you, but there are more helpful ways to offer constructive criticism to someone than how many choose to do so on the forums!0 -
You're all actually reporting someone who said they ate around 1200 calories, without exercising, because you don't like the types of foods she ate?
I think that's a little ridiculous. Personally, I would not eat the same thing everyday for 3 months, but if she is getting enough calories and has energy and feels well, I don't see the problem here. Maybe if she said she was eating 600 calories or something, but I clearly read 1200 in one of her posts.
AGREED. She stated that she was eating 1,200 calories a day, It's her preference on how she wanted to get those calories. People need to chill :noway:0 -

There is no way for her to drop 30lbs in 3 months if she were truly eating at 1200 calories. 135 to 105 at 5'3...I think not.
Although I think 115 at 5'6 is a little iffy too.0 -

You really think she dropped 30 pounds in 3 months eating 1200 calories? That's at least a 1250 calorie deficit a day and, considering she doesn't work out, I'm skeptical that her TDEE is 2450. I work out 4-5 hours a week and weigh more and my TDEE isn't that high.
And, when you factor in how small she was to start (135 is in the normal bmi range) the rate of loss becomes even more alarming. And frankly I don't care (You could all stop eating and run til you pass right out for all it impacts me) but I am in favor of logic being applied to situations.0 -

I disagree. Everyone has different bodies that react different from others. You don't know how fast or slow someones weight loss will be.0 -

Beans, artichokes, broccoli, brussell sprouts, sweet corn, soy, etc.
By the way, http://thebananagirl.com/but-where-do-u-get-your-protein.php - kinda cool.
OK, you left out that are in fact eating beans. Beans and rice together are a good protein source.0 -

No. Not that different. Morbidly obese people lose 30 in 3 months not those at an already decent weight to underweight.0 -

You're logic and common sense are not appreciated here. Special snowflakes remain special; math remains unappreciated, we're all different and here for the same reasons.0 -

Says the one that chose the post with links to a helpful site about eating disorders to get upset at versus the other posts directly saying her methods were unhealthy.

Check with your doctor before and all of that ~ I know it's safe on me based on past diagnosis, but I wouldn't want anyone to do something too extreme for their body and wouldn't be safe.
I'm curious to know what this diagnosis is that you speak of that makes this kind of diet not extreme and unhealthy?
ETA:I don't think I asked for your opinion, thanks. I have nothing to defend or justify to anyone.
JJ wouldn't care about your justification anyways. She likes to question people and then block them so they can't explain.0 -
Congrats! great job!:-)
Seems like whatever your doing is working for you, If you were exercising I would say it would be a bit low on calories.
But you did it just through diet.
The biggest loser they do 1000 cal, and have heavy workouts and they still manage to keep it off.
Anyone commenting in a rude fashion(especially "good luck putting it all back on" to this post needs to not assume the worst, she's lost what she wanted, and we must support achievements on here,
WHY else would it be called Fitness Pal, certain people should really THINK if they are really being a "PAL" before they type
If memory serves.....people on the Biggest Loser are morbidly obese, aren't they?0 -

Biggest loser, where everyone is constantly and closely monitored by doctors and trainers AND are morbidly obese. Great example.
We don't have to support all achievements. Not sure where you got that idea.
We aren't pals.0 -

My average weight loss is just over 30 lbs/year, so no where near as fast, but I also had hypothyroid issues in the beginning and throughout some of my weight loss so I don't really compare what's normal for me to what might be normal for someone else.
Also, someone offered a seemingly reasonable explanation above to what could have caused such quick loss about intolerance (which I have no experience with personally so again idk).0 -

If she made a drastic change to her diet, I don't see why she couldn't have lost weight at that rate. Her weight loss was at 2.5 lb down per week, and I have been losing 2 lb/week and I'm not morbidly obese. You can't "assume" someone has an ED just because what they eat and how much weight they're losing.0 -

Please feel free to because I have every right to express my opinion that 115lbs at 5'6 is under weight. All I said is I think it is iffy. If you can't handle differing opinions, you might need to stay off forums in general or away from any discussion that may escalate to a debate0
