I have looked at many different calculators to determine how many is necessary to not starve myself yet ensure I am taking in the minimal amount to lose weight. I work out 3-4 times a week. I know it has to do with height weight age etc. I think 2100 calories is alot to consume daily if I am working out..
Also why doesnt weight lifting allow you to consume more calories according to this site?
Thanks

2100 is not necessarily a lot, depending on your height, weight and exercise intensity. I was eating over 3000 a day and losing while I was doing insanity. The links below should help you find a good calorie goal based on everything you need. As for weight lifting, there is a weight lifting entry in the cardio section that gives you a calorie burn. Weight lifting calories vary a lot depending on how much is being lifted, the lifting rhythm, how long rest times are, etc, so MFP doesn't try to calculate calories based on specific weight lifting activies. The weights section on the site is just for tracking sets, reps and weights, the same as you would in a notebook you brought to the gym.
