How to figure out cal. used bicycling with kid in trailer

Sometimes I bicycle pulling a 25 lb. trailer with a 30 lb. kid in it! Surely the bicycling burns more calories than when I bike without. How do I figure out what my caloric burn is with kid in trailer?

Thanks so much! Have a great weekend! :)

    Wear a heart rate monitor.
  • Thanks - will try that! I used my husband's Garmin today for accurate distance/ time, but it doesn't record calories.
  • You could try to plug it into an online calculator and when it asks for your weight, add the stroller and child's weight to yours. Wont be 100% accurate, but better than nothing?

ETA - dont do that. That would be stupid now that I think about it. Surely there is a site somewhere that can calculate it for you.

Consider it a bonus that you burned a few extra calories. Once the whole thing gets rolling it isn't that much extra work unless there are a lot of hills.
